Taking an English class online was actually quite helpful to me. It gave the chance to do things at my own pace and it also made me use the resources that I never knew were available to me through the school such as the online tutor. It was nice to have several of the readings available for us right there on Blackboard, instead of having to buy the books, I wont complain about saving money! =)
As stated above I was so unaware of how many tools and resources there were for us as students to use. Never even knew of the online tutor, its an amazing thing! I have used the Learning Center before and will continue to use that in the furture.
I loved all the things that we learned this semester, except maybe that last essay, it was quite difficult. I do love a challenge but it nearly killed me to be quite honest. The tools and technology we were given made it easier though and for that Im thankful. Blogging was something I had heard of but I think its a great thing and something that has peaked my interest. Of course if I continue to use it, it more thank likely wont be about English but you never know.
I am pretty familiar with technology but this class helped me to get comfortable with it. Thanks Laura for breaking me out of my shell and bringing me into the modern world!!
I am right there with you that the last essay nearly killed me!! I would say this whole class nearly killed me, but I made it through to the end. As did you! So good job on that. Online classes definitely are not for everyone. I love them. I think they are for me. I have never actually taken a class in a classroom before so I'm not sure if I would benefit to them or not. I've always just been better at online so I don't take the chance.
ReplyDeleteIm glad all of us is on the same page. I was very nervous about this last paper that i put on hold because I just didnt know how to start it off and i knew that it had to be great so i put it on hold so i could do all my other classes and get them out the way so i could focus on Winter's bone essay. Im happy to say that we are almost done with this semester and we all did so well and learned a lot from each other which is cool. I have never took a online class till this semester but i liked it better then going to class everyday.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I learned many things this last semester but it again this last essay was very difficult because it took so much time! I am glad I made it through and that some of you feel the same! This class also taught me how to handlea more difficult online class!

Cline helped us out a lot by having the articles and short stories ready for us as opposed to going out and buy them or spending countless hours looking for the article.
Overall it was a great experience to use different types of technologies while still being able to experience an online class!
Self motivation is definately a characteristic of taking an online class! That last essay was difficult and some of the reading was as well, but I think that completing the work and getting it checked helped with your grades. I also never thought about the money factor but it is a great point with how expensive colleges courses are. Great post!
